As we kick off 2024, our team has been busy building.
To help our partners stay up to date and know what’s coming next, we’ll be sharing our recent releases and roadmap on a regular basis. Each release is a combination of feedback from our community and insights from the AngelList team.
Recent Releases
In January, the team shipped an array of new features across our standalone Investment Management software suite (here), as well as enhancing our Full Service fund management offering (here).
Investor Management Suite
- Investor Portal Launch – firms looking to improve ongoing touch-points with their LPs across the lifecycle can leverage AngelList’s Investor Portal. A single platform providing a branded experience to keep investors engaged by publishing standard quarterly reports and sharing content for current and future investment opportunities.
- Data Room configurations – easily configure the layout to suit your firm's needs by adding a new team section and dragging/dropping files, allowing you to take control of customizing your data room experience.
- KYC/AML checks within Transact – manage your KYC/AML checks directly within our Compliance CRM in Transact, where we'll run investor identity data through our compliance systems. If you'd like to put KYC/AML on autopilot, our internal teams can resolve false positives and follow up with investors so you don't have to.
Full Service Fund Management
- Unified Navigation – experience a redesigned navigation bar, on the left of each page, making it easy to switch between AngelList apps and dashboard pages.
- Real-time tax data verification – we’ve improved our tax software leveraged by Belltower, our native fund admin, to ensure timely delivery of K-1s.
- Directly adjust commitments – LPs can take full control of adjusting their commitments within the AngelList dashboard by having their requests to decrease/cancel commitments sent directly to the GPs (via email & in-product) for approval or rejection. Once actioned by the GP, the change will be automatically executed.
- 2FA Reset – you and your LPs can now reset your 2FA by verifying your personal identity within the product instead of having to email support.
Upcoming Releases
As we set our sights on the remainder of Q1, we're sharing a look into our roadmap and the ongoing development of features and products throughout our entire standalone software suite tailored for private markets, alongside our comprehensive Full Service fund management services.
Full Service Fund Management
- Quarterly close for audited funds – to ensure timely & accurate financial reporting for GPs and LPs, all audited funds leveraging our full service offering will go through an official quarterly close where the data is confirmed by the GP before the close.
- Improved LP tax information collection – to improve K-1 delivery timelines and accuracy, we’re updating investment workflows to allow LPs to provide tax information before completing an investment.
- Signed documents available post-investment – all signed documents will instantly be available for download once an investor makes an investment.
- Automated Transfers for your LPs – every now & then LPs request to transfer their position within a fund for gifting purposes or to an affiliated entity. Once the transfer request is sent from the LP, as a GP you can accept & sign within product.
- Improved Valuation Updates – up-to-date portfolio markups are important for accurate financial reporting to LPs. We launched a new automated process that's significantly increased response times & data coverage from portfolio companies.
- Request investor dashboard access - third party partners, like tax professionals or accountants, will soon be able to request dashboard access via a “Request Access” screen. Invest account owners can then review and approve these requests directly from their Team Members page.
Investor Management Suite
- Video section in Data Room –Data rooms will soon be able to support the ability to upload videos to create a more engaging story for your investors.
- Self-serve settings in Transact – directly update transaction templates for your sub doc workflows with the ability to customize URLs, names, descriptions, and more from your 'Settings' tab.
- Bulk upload in Investor Portal – reduce the time it takes to add new LPs and content to your portal with the ability to bulk upload files and entities.
Portfolio Management
- Master Portfolio Table – easily view structured data from monthly or quarterly portfolio company updates in a master table by uploading legal investment documents and company updates. Information will be automatically extracted to compile a fund’s entire portfolio into a master table that pulls data directly from the underlying documents.
- Valuation updates and evidence tracking – quickly identify which portfolio companies have gone through internal mark-up and mark-downs, priced rounds, public comps to answer LP questions and provide necessary documentation to auditors.
Financial Management
- Treasury integration with institutional banks – in addition to our current partner banks, we are expanding partnerships with institutional banks, enabling seamless opening and management of bank accounts for $1B+ funds through Treasury.
- Accept & Reconcile Capital within Investor Portal –LPs will be able to receive ACH & wiring instructions from directly within AngelList Investor Portal to complete capital calls. Once AngelList Treasury receives the capital, it's auto-reconciled.
- Ledger Launch [Alpha] – As we look to expand our financial management offerings, we’re in the process of developing ledger software for funds and fund administrators. While still in alpha testing, we’ll soon have our design partners being able to leverage this software to set up a chart of accounts, record journal entries and run basic reports.
